Family pride, modern equipment and proprietary manufacturing techniques are incorporated into the formula that has made MEC-GAR the great success story it is today. MEC-GAR is a privately held family-run business that was founded by Mr. Edoardo Racheli in 1965. Today MEC-GAR has become to be known worldwide as the largest producer of fine quality rifle and pistol magazines. Our state-of-the-art stamping facility and tool shop, unlike many other manufacturers, are 100% dedicated to the manufacturing of firearm magazines. MEC-GAR's distinct advantage is as a "one-stop-shopping-center" for technical design assistance, prototypes, tool design and development and assembly.  Our manufacturing operations are housed in three modern facilities with more than 50,000 square feet located in both Gardone Val Trompia and Gussago in the Italian province of Brescia. Both locations are easily accessible from airports and the state highways.
MEC-GAR's primary manufacturing consists of a fully equipped metal stamping department with automatic presses and automatic seam-welding machines. Our secondary in house capabilities include state-of-the-art multi-modular heat treatment installation working in a controlled atmosphere, a vacuum vapor degreasing system, a superior mass metal finishing department along with two automatic lapping machines.  MEC-GAR maintains and operates a professional in-house tool and die facility. A fully staffed and mature design and building team offers product engineering support and diversified prototype development.
Our integrated CAD-CAM technology is employed at MEC-GAR in order to fabricate high precision compound dies and gauges designed to meet the most stringent tolerance specifications. We live by a policy mandating quality, which states that we are committed, to the manufacturing of consistently superior quality magazines that conform to or exceed customer tolerance specifications. MEC-GAR has the distinct honor of being the original equipment supplier for most of the world's leading firearms manufacturers. It has additionally been awarded numerous Law Enforcement, Military and Government contracts throughout its history. Our greatest success was to be qualified as the official supplier of Beretta M9/92F 15 round magazines for the U.S. Army and of the SIG P220-A1 7 round magazine for the Federal Agencies |
